Born out of South Sudanese solidarity and community resilience during times of severe crisis.
Exodus Foundation International was conceived in response to a fundamental humanitarian challenge: traditional emergency aid often arrives late and leaves too early, creating recurring vulnerability. In 2021, a group of dedicated South Sudanese technical experts and community organizers joined together to establish an organization that would stay, build local capacity, and bridge immediate relief with long-term agricultural and institutional recovery.
Named Exodus Foundation International to symbolize the journey out of hardship into dignity, self-reliance, and peace, the organization began as a rapid-response team providing clean water and shelter kits to families displaced by flash floods in Central Equatoria.
Established by South Sudanese humanitarians to respond to displacement during severe flooding in Equatoria and Jonglei.
Drilled first 25 solar boreholes and launched emergency nutrition centers in Kajo-Keji and Yei.
Extended operations to Rhino Camp refugee settlement in Northern Uganda and Gambela in Western Ethiopia.
Deployed emergency transit center WASH facilities for 120,000+ returnees fleeing the Sudan conflict.
Distributed certified climate-adapted crop seeds to 45,000 farming households in Central Equatoria.
Serving 667,000+ total beneficiaries across 12 programs with 285 national staff.
