Emergency Appeal Launched as Floods Isolate 24,000 Families in Greater Pibor
Unprecedented water surges along the Pibor river basin have displaced thousands of pastoralist households. Exodus rapid response teams are deploying emergency tarpaulins and water treatment sachets.

GREATER PIBOR ADMINISTRATIVE AREA — Sudden water overflows triggered by heavy upper-basin rainfall have submerged farmlands and homesteads in Pibor town, Lekuangole, and Verteth payams.
Exodus Foundation International rapid mobile assessment teams arrived on site via river canoes to pre-position 2,800 emergency shelter kits and water purification sachets.
Executive Director John Lupayi Charles urged international partners and diaspora donors to support the emergency appeal. "When families lose their shelters and clean water sources overnight, swift action saves lives and prevents disease outbreaks."
In coordination with UNOCHA and WFP, Exodus Foundation is coordinating riverine relief boats to transport emergency food rations and dignity kits to stranded river islands.
